Hartford Woman Online is a community for women who live in the Greater Hartford Area. It is made for work-at-home woman who want to share stories and information about their daily lives. They also have fund raisers and post events going on just for women. They have sections from women news stories to news stories. They do not specifically have to be about members of this online group, but they are specifically put on the site to help and promote women. Even though only women in the Hartford area can join the site, others can go on it and view the news stories and fund raisers. The members have more options on the site, but it is still useful to any woman who visits the site. They have a blog as well so all of the members can chat with each other. They also have their own twitter and facebook pages with help connect them with women all around the world.
The success of this online magazine is has to do with its advertisements. There is a section devoted just to ads, under "Ad Directory." Within this directory there are links to areas such as business, home decor, bridal, career coaching, photography, and much more. Within these links there are multiple links to many different organzations. So with promoting all of these organization, which are focused towards women, this online magazine flourishes with members and businesses.
It is edited by Kate LaFrance who also lives in Hartford, Connecticut. Hartford Woman Online is her online magazine, but she also has another website, www.helpvirtual.com. She helps businesses by coaching them and applying her methods to help them grow. She is involved in virtual marketing and has her own blog on blogspot. She has devoted her career in helping flourishing businesses in marketing as well as creating an online magazine for woman in the Hartford area.
