Advertising Messages

Oh beer. How many times has anyone ever seen a beer or alcohol commercial , even wine, which depicted false dreams, women as objects, or given a "soul" to their product in the manifestation of a horse drawn carriage or a cold mountain top? More often in my belief beer commercials depict women in a deplorable manner. Or the idea of you can get the girl if you drink a particular beer. I have even seen ones where their idea of heaven is all they serve is Coors Light, or something of that matter. In my opinion, that sounds more like hell. Beer ads have in my opinion shown all five of the sexist ads traits which Kibourne writes about. Superiority, when you have the beer you get the girl. Dismemberment, comparing beer bottles to the figure of a woman. Clowning, showing drunk women as more fun while the man is suave and in control, as well as canting, dominance and violence.
