Men clean too. This vacuum makes like easier. He's now Mr. Clean.
Mopping Floor makes me happy and helps me forget about my frustrations.
Women are vital for advertisement. Advertisements continue female attributed stereotypes of the ideal housewife who is a little too happy about cleaning. The first image conveys the traditional stereotype of the perfect housewife smiling on mopping floors. The statement underneath the image, "I get rid of my stresses by mopping my floor and buffing it to a perfect shine" mocks the happy conformable housewife. Advertisers deliver messages conforming to gender stereotypes to sell their product. It's a continual cycle. Housewives are depicted as women without much of a say on worldly issues. Her interest and concentrations are centered on the household, cleaning and creating the perfect family. Rarely, we see advertisements featuring men as household cleaners. I think we need more of these ads. Although, advertisers chose to stick to stereotypes, times have changed. Couples tend to share household responsibilities. It is no longer just up to women to maintain the cleanliness of the home.
